2026“Art Guerrilla”Artist Residency Open Call in Matsu

Creative Theme : The creative theme is to be determined by the artist. The work must take Matsu as its theme, and preference will be given to works created specifically for Matsu that reflect local characteristics, demonstrate care for the local community, and contribute to the region. It is hoped that the work will have the potential for continued development in the future. Residency Location and Number of Artists : 1. Residency Period: From September 1 to October 15, 2026. The maximum residency period is 1.5 months, or 45 days. Each artist must stay in residence for at least 38 days and no more than 45 days. The day of departure from the outlying island will not be counted as part of the residency period. 2. Preset Residency Locations and Number of Artists: Approximately 7 to 8 artists will be selected. Eligibility : 1. Applicants: Open only to artists of R.O.C. nationality aged 20 to 45, born between 1980 and 2005. Artists who participated in this residency program between 2019 and 2024 will not be eligible to apply again. 2. Categories: All types of artistic creation are accepted. 3. Application Period: From 9:00 a.m. on June 10 to 5:00 p.m. on June 30, 2026.

Can Serrat Collective Creation Laboratory 2027 explores walking as an artistic and research methodology. The program invites artists, writers, and researchers from diverse disciplines to engage in an intensive collective process situated within the landscape of Montserrat. Walking is understood as a generative practice for perceiving, mapping, narrating, and understanding place through embodied experience, sensory exploration, ecological observation, site-responsive creation, and reflective practices.

Silence Awareness Existence is a thematic, transdisciplinary residency program in Finland for artists, writers, researchers, and creative minds attuned to the theme. The program brings together creative individuals from different backgrounds and welcomes artistic, scientific, contemplative, and existential approaches equally. Taking place in the heart of the Northern winter, the residency offers an ideal environment for creative contemplation, solitary introspection, focused work, thinking, being, and exchanging experiences and ideas with similarly oriented minds. There is no pressure to produce a concrete outcome, especially for participants focusing on inner development, self-reflection, or research. Participation in all group activities is voluntary.

Encura IX: Curatorial Research Residency between Barcelona and Bilbao

Encura is a curatorial research residency programme that aims to promote, expand, and deepen curatorial research processes by interweaving artistic and territorial contexts. It supports practices that do not necessarily result in conventional exhibition formats. For its ninth edition, Encura IX expands its territorial focus to Bilbao, connecting the artistic contexts of Barcelona and Bilbao. The programme invites applicants to develop situated, collaborative, and research-based curatorial projects. Proposed projects should engage with artistic practices in both contexts and include collaboration and dialogue with artists or agents in residence at Hangar and BilbaoArte.
