Can Serrat Collective Creation Laboratory 2027 explores walking as an artistic and research methodology. The program invites artists, writers, and researchers from diverse disciplines to engage in an intensive collective process situated within the landscape of Montserrat. Walking is understood as a generative practice for perceiving, mapping, narrating, and understanding place through embodied experience, sensory exploration, ecological observation, site-responsive creation, and reflective practices.

The theme for 2027 is “Site-Specific Art”. Artists shall observe the following contexts of Tainan City before creating works. The hydrology (including river basin and water management system), physiography (archaeological studies, soil, meteorology, or topographical variations), ecology (aquatic, amphibian, and terrestrial fauna and flora in the area), humanities (indigenous, agricultural, river-related, or ecology-related culture).

The themes of the 2027 Soulangh AiR Program will be related to 'sugar', 'salt', or 'local cultures'. Soulangh Cultural Park used to be an important sugar refinery, having been founded during the era of Japanese rule. The park is situated in Jiali District, the geographical center of the so-called Saline Land of Tainan. In the past, the surrounding area was an essential place of habitation for the Siraya people, a Taiwanese Indigenous tribe. Furthermore, the area is rich in many different cultural elements, including Taoist temples and centipede parades, both of which are important cultural characteristics of the region. Artists who participate in the 2027 Soulangh AiR Program will be encouraged to explore their artistic practices based on the theme of sugar as a significant element of the area's heritage. In addition, 'salt' and 'local cultures' may also be explored as themes for artists to reinterpret through their work, thereby representing the landscapes, culture, and history of this unique region.

Ey!Studio AiR is an international artist residency hosted by #Ey!Studio, an independent artist-run space founded in 2017 in Carabanchel, Madrid. The program provides a supportive environment for artistic research, experimentation, and the development of new work within one of Spain’s most dynamic contemporary art communities. The residency welcomes artists, researchers, curators, writers, filmmakers, musicians, and interdisciplinary practitioners from around the world. Rather than following a fixed curriculum, Ey!Studio AiR encourages self-directed practice, allowing each resident to develop their project at their own pace while becoming part of an international community of creative practitioners. Located in Carabanchel, Madrid’s leading district for contemporary artistic production, the residency offers direct access to galleries, artist studios, independent spaces, and cultural initiatives that have transformed the neighbourhood into one of the city’s most vibrant creative ecosystems. Residents receive private accommodation, access to shared workspaces and common facilities, and opportunities for professional exchange through studio visits, networking, and participation in an optional collective exhibition or open studio, depending on the residency period. As a non-profit cultural association, Ey!Studio reinvests all income generated by the residency program into maintaining and expanding its activities, supporting future artistic initiatives, and strengthening international cultural exchange.

Arquetopia is thrilled to announce the launch of My First Arquetopia Residency, a new two-week introductory program designed exclusively for applicants ages 20 to 25 who are beginning, rethinking, or formalizing their artistic practice. This program is conceived for emerging or first-time residents who wish to define or reframe the foundations of their work through contextual immersion and guided observation. Taking place in Puebla between March and July, the residency is intentionally scheduled during academic recesses — spring and summer breaks — allowing young artists and students to pursue an international residency experience in Mexico without interrupting their studies. Over two weeks, participants engage closely with local museum collections, develop critical reflection through weekly meetings, and undertake structured field visits that situate artistic practice within broader social, historical, and material frameworks. Guided by one of three thematic axes — Gender, Landscape, and Museums & Collections — participants will follow a schedule that blends study, observation, and dialogue. Activities include in-situ classes, individualized mentoring, guided collection visits, and academic sessions at institutions such as Museo Bello, Museo de la Revolución, Museo del Alfeñique, and the Biblioteca Palafoxiana. My First Arquetopia Residency offers young artists a grounded and mentored point of departure — a space to reflect, experiment, and begin their creative trajectory with intention and responsibility.

Welcome to Keelung's first experimental art space! Through this open call, we especially encourage proposals that seek to connect with Keelung's harbor culture, while also welcoming applications from all disciplines, themes, and media. We invite practitioners engaged in artistic creation, cultural promotion, social design, creative business, and related fields to take part in the residency. We look forward to bringing together people who wish to interact with the Star Coastline team and with the city of Keelung, meeting, connecting, and exchanging ideas at Space Moor. Here, you can experience a creative process and way of life that breaks away from the everyday, or make free use of the exhibition space for display and sales. At the same time, Star Coastline's promotional platforms can help increase your visibility and marketing exposure. Beyond the joy of travel and the nourishment of creative practice, we hope that coming here will also help you move toward the future, expressing your own memories with this city. Arquetopia is excited to announce the launch of VAACA (Vinculación Académica, Artística y Comunitaria de Arquetopia), our new area of Community Engaged Practice. This initiative focuses on strengthening educational and artistic connections with diverse sectors, fostering the shared responsibility of participating in healthy cultural ecosystems. Through VAACA, we will expand our collaborations with museums and cultural institutions, share our critical perspectives, and build meaningful bridges with cultural heritage. As part of this effort, we are introducing a series of new residencies that bring critical perspectives to artistic practice, with a special focus on non-dominant forms of knowledge that have historically been ignored. These programs highlight reciprocal learning, encourage situated practices, and invite participants to engage with culture as a living and dynamic system. Upcoming Programs: Botany and the Mapping of Ignorance (2026): An immersive two-week learning program that rethinks the history of botany through the lens of colonial knowledge and ecological interdependence. Unmaking Power, Remaking Worlds: A two-week guided art program designed as a cultural ecosystem, where art, knowledge, and community practices intersect to generate new possibilities for inhabiting the world. Day of the Dead (2026): A two-week immersive learning program centered on the practices, rituals, and ancestral knowledge of Día de Muertos, combining Spanish language learning, tasting, and creating as pathways into cultural memory and continuity. Through these new initiatives, Arquetopia continues to nurture critical dialogue, collective learning, and the creation of new methodologies rooted in reciprocity and cultural awareness. The SHORTSTAY Program welcomes any artist to freely use the residence for up to 3 weeks in principle. In exchange for “One Stay,” we ask that each artist in the program present “One Art,” which could be any public work/event – ranging from an exhibition to a live performance – for the residents of Matsudo. The intention behind this program is to foster a give-and-take relationship between traveling artists and the city of Matsudo. We offer emerging artists the ability to gather public exposure for their work and free opportunities for local residents to experience diverse artistic expressions. We accept applications year round.
