ARTErra Rural Art Residencies

ARTErra is a project that hosts and encourages interdisciplinary artistic creation through artistic residencies. The residency addresses the need for physical spaces where artists can create, meet, reflect on their creative processes, and develop their work intensively and focused. Set in Central Portugal, in the green and welcoming village of Lobão da Beira, the residency offers a rural and tranquil environment for work. Although it is a private initiative, ARTErra has partnerships with the Town Hall and other notable community entities. ARTErra provides artists with a serene environment to focus on their work, offering cozy accommodations, spacious studios, and opportunities for cultural exchange within our welcoming community. OPEN CALL APOLAN RESIDENCY FONDATION FIMINCO

In partnership with the Taiwan Cultural Centre in Paris, on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, Taiwan (R.O.C.), the Fondation Fiminco welcomes applications from Taiwanese artists for a 4-month research, creation and production residency in Romainville (Seine-Saint-Denis) from mid-September to mid-January 2025. The name of this residency programme "APOLAN" is a mandarin pronunciation of "阿婆蘭", an unique native specie of Phalaenopsis amabilis in Taiwan.The name represents what we believe in culture, that focuses on uniqueness, originality and blossoms as flowers, which we will like to share with the world. Applications can be written either in French or English and submitted via the online form before February 17th, 2024, at midnight, CET. A jury composed of professionals from the culture and arts sector, as well as representatives of the Fondation Fiminco and the Taiwan Cultural Center in Paris, will make a shortlist of candidates based on their application. The shortlisted artists will then be invited for an interview (via videoconference) at 26th March. Farm Studio International Artist Residency 2026

Farm Studio International Artist Residency is located in a rural community in India. Residents stay and create in a quiet art centre and beautiful environment where they can develop their artwork free from accustomed distractions. Here, collaboration and experimentation is encouraged. Relationships form between the artists coming from different countries and varied social, cultural, and artistic backgrounds. Many exciting exchanges and dialogues among artists take place, including scheduled artist talks, presentations, works in progress showings, etc. Farm Studio also promotes and celebrates the local community’s artistic and cultural identity while also introducing art and culture of others’ (Indian and International guests) back to the community. This intercultural exchange broadens everyone’s experiences and fosters art appreciation. Farm Studio International Artist Residency has accommodations available for 3-6 residents at one time. Farm Studio residency provides three types of working spaces where artists can explore their art and ideas in the rural Rajasthani environment; at the Farm Studio indoor studios, the outdoor desert and farm environments, and in Hinge Arts Space in Andore Village. Artists bring their own art materials, and basic tools are available at Farm Studio. Artists stay in individual huts or in individual rooms. Each room has a bed and bedding for all weather conditions. Huts and rooms are equipped with a table, stool/chair and a light. Shared (private) bathroom facilities.

MacDowell: Fall Winter 2025-2026

Since its founding in 1907, MacDowell has imbued its spaces with a deep and abiding respect for artists and their creative work. In the 21st century, this fundamental kindness is sustained by the curiosity, generosity, and goodwill circulating within the resident community. While MacDowell may be thought of as a place apart from the world, the resident population will always be comprised of individuals who are of the world. MacDowell strives to offer ideal working conditions for artists within a joyful and mutually supportive environment. Consistent with that mission, all Fellows are obliged to adopt the community agreement as a condition of accepting a Fellowship. Doing so will help ensure that all Fellows may participate in the enriching exchange that has given rise to countless friendships and collaborations. MacDowell is an artist residency program located in the rural environment in Peterborough, New Hampshire. Artists-in-residence need to be comfortable with a degree of solitude and disconnection from the outside world. Studios are comfortably furnished with the artists’ needs in mind. A MacDowell Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for two to six weeks. There are no residency fees. Artists are responsible for materials and travel expenses: financial assistance is available to artists in residence based on demonstrated financial need. MacDowell encourages applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics.
