Onassis AiR Open Call 2025/26
After five successful years of operation, over 7000 applications in the program's Open Calls and the support of more than 200 Fellows, Onassis AiR has become a hub for cross-disciplinary thinking and exchange among local and international art practitioners and researchers. The program cultivates the conditions for the exchange of ideas by foregrounding current issues and addressing the urgency of our times, rooted in the local context and attuned to the constantly evolving global landscape.
Onassis AiR invites artists, curators, artisans, performance artists, choreographers, dancers, fashion and costume designers, writers, dramaturgs, architects, set designers, filmmakers, sculptors, and other creative practitioners from any medium of expression or discipline, to apply for their selected program strand that will take place in Athens, Greece, between September 2025 to July 2026.
This year, the program turns towards new directions, further embracing crafts and material-based practices. Onassis AiR seeks to enrich its artistic community by welcoming creatives working in fashion, design, and applied arts, navigating the potential of cross-disciplinary collaboration and co-existence within an environment of ongoing exploration.
For 2025/26, the program enhances its function as an instigator of creative experimentation offering opportunities on four different strands:
The Onassis AiR Extended Research Residencies
A three-month residency program tailored for creators (individuals or collectives) seeking dedicated time and space to nurture, develop, or refine in-progress work, with the support and peer-to-peer connection needed to move their projects forward.
The Onassis AiR Dramaturgy Fellowships
A three-month fellowship for performing arts professionals from Greece or based in Greece, to develop a new theater, dance, and/or performing arts project that has not yet been presented.
The Onassis AiR/ONX Fellowships
A two-month fellowship for projects that combine immersive narratives, Mixed Realities and performative elements and address the potential of computational technologies to foster sustainable practices.
The Onassis AiR Technical Residencies
