Candidates with a thorough artistic practice in material research are welcome to apply with an existing project to further develop during an 11-month residency at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
Fashion & Textile Material Fellowship supports an existing research project exploring sustainable and biobased approaches to fashion and/or textile materials, with the aim of encouraging the transition towards more ecological fashion systems. The selected Fellow will collaborate with the Jan van Eyck Academie and Textile Innovation Maastricht (TIM).
Future Materials Fellowship supports an existing project featuring a biobased material or materials process applicable across a broad range of creative practices, offering viable alternatives to common toxic or fossil-based materials used in arts and design. The selected Fellow will have access to the Jan van Eyck Academie and CHILL at Brightlands Chemelot Campus, among other partners.
Both Fellows will work among a cohort of some 35 international artists, designers, curators, writers, and other creative minds, and will be supported by the Jan van Eyck Labs — Future Materials, Material Matters, Food, Printing & Publishing, Photography & Audiovisual, and the Library.
These Fellowship positions are part of the Future Threads programme, supported by the JTF Fonds voor Rechtvaardige Transitie.
