Introduction |
Weaving is a method, a skill, a mindset, and a way of being. Both curating an artist residency and participating in one require the weaving skill and are in the process of weaving. It requires the weavers’ being responsive to one’s interests and needs, and sensing of opportunities that bring people and happenings together. It is also a powerful tool for building communities.
In the past two months, Alice visited a few artist villages and arts spaces, interviewed curators, arts managers and artists who have initiated and been running artist residencies, and listened to their thoughts and views on the operation of artists residencies. In this upcoming sharing, Alice is going to share her findings of the research that she conducted which focuses on the curators’ and arts managers’ complex role in conceiving and managing an artist residency programme.
● This talk will be conducted in Chinese and English.

Introduction |
Passepartout Duo’s work investigates the way in which we listen to and connect with sound. Reassessing the tools they use to create their music, the duo is continually developing a specialized and evolving ecosystem of handmade sound objects. Making use of newly built musical instruments, which continue the duo’s research on the relationship between technological tools and human performers, the two musicians will be translating into music the experiences and their encounters in Taipei.
●The performance will be conducted in English
