Grand View Art Village (GVAV) spans over 3.27 acers and is located in Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Nestled in the foothills of Lianhua Mountain, it overlooks the fertile fields fed by the Fengshan and Xiaoli Rivers and is adjacent to the once-thriving old high street of Xinpu.
Xinpu is renowned for having the highest density of ancestral halls in Taiwan and for its unique folk rituals. Additionally, the greater Hsinchu area not only boasts diverse natural landscapes and ecological resources but also includes Hakka, Atayal, Saisiyat indigenous people, as well as military villages and immigrant communities. This rich cultural and ecological diversity makes GVAV a creative hub where nature, culture, tradition, and modernity converge.
Visions:
・To Accommodate Diverse Artistic Creation and Experience: We now envision ourself as a platform which not only supports artistic creation but also delivers experience for the general public to incorporate art into their everyday lives.
・To Represent Local Perspective and Global Vision: Through residency programs deep into local history and lifestyles, we aim to become a bridge, if not a catalyst, to further interpret local cultural characteristics, to facilitate cross-over dialogues, and ultimately to reflect on local identity and consolidate cultural confidence.
・To Realize Cultural Inclusion and Sustainable Inheritance: By collaborating with local communities, associations, and industries, we aim to engage in a variety of local activities, festivals, and programs. So that we can better understand multicultural values and further explore cultural diversity by fostering cultural hybridization and its inheritance.
