Founded in 2018, TESA Creative Center was set out with a mission of creating new concepts of art, space, and environment with the care of eco-friendliness and ecological sustainability. In this ecological sustainable art base, the Artist-in-Residence program provides artists with an excellent place for creating, living, researching, and cultural exchange. Artists are encouraged to contribute to the communities with artistic actions. What's more, the residency program aims to develop in-depth communication with international artists, to extend the approaches to environmental aesthetics in Taiwan. Meanwhile, to introduce Taiwan to the world through artists from all over the world.

TESA Creative Center is located in a natural place in the Baisha Bay area. It is a 30-minute drive from downtown Tamsui. The site is spacious and natural, which is suitable for creating. The resident artists are free to create around this untamed landscape, and living in an independent and nature-integrated space becomes a unique residency experience. There are indoor and outdoor spaces for holding exhibitions, forums, performances, and seminars. A forklift, a stacker and an air compressor, and all kinds of carving tools are available for artists. In addition, the common area has a kitchen and a wooden deck which extends outwards. The deck echoes with other wooden decks in the center.

TESA Creative Center became a ResArtis: Worldwide Network of Arts Residencies member in 2019. In the same year, TESA Creative Center began to organize Artist-in-Residence, providing artists a 30-day residency with 230㎡ in-door spaces, 3,300㎡ outdoor spaces, and a sculpture studio. Besides the Taiwanese, artists from Sweden, New Zealand, and Japan who specialized in metalwork, fiber, textile, sculpture, and dancing had been here before. The public adored their exhibitions, workshops, talks, and seminars.

The residency program received applications from the United States, the United Kingdom, China, France, Italy, Canada, Chile, Iceland, Russia, Belgium, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Taiwan in 2020 and 2021. However, overseas artists could not come to Taiwan due to COVID-19, and the international program had been postponed. Instead, TESA Creative Center turned to focus on domestic artists. TESA Creative Center expects this program to become part of artists' creation path, furnish them with creativity, and enrich their experiences.
