Cultural centre SODAS 2123 is a self-governed community-based space, operated and curated by Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association. It brings creators and researchers of different fields together, with practices based on experimentation, and responding to latest cultural, social, geopolitical, ecological issues. With over 30 artist studios, rehearsing studios for music bands, offices of design, film, visual arts organizations, exhibition spaces, event spaces, various workshops, cafe, public outdoor garden space, public allotment and more – SODAS 2123 provides space for a variety of art and cultural disciplines, and encourages each resident of the complex to share, learn and exchange with an open mind.


[Residency]
SODAS 2123 residency is designed by architects Ona Lozuraitytė and Petras Išora. The design follows a DIY aesthetic and ecological sustainability principles. To promote environmental sustainability, the architects utilized leftover materials from exhibitions and reused various items through recycling.


[Food at SODAS 2123]
On the ground floor you will find Estafetė bar. They prepare daily lunches from Tuesday to Friday and are open from 10 AM to 5 PM, also during SODAS 2123 events. The closest grocery shop Lidl is about 5 minutes walk from the residency. We also recommend visiting the local Halės market for fresh seasonal fruits and veggies which is about 10 minutes away. You can also order food via food delivery services such as Wolt, Bolt food, Foodout.


[Buzzling surroundings]
There are concerts, exhibitions and other events happening in the building and garden. It will be packed especially during the warm season. The space is pet friendly. We have advised visitors not to walk on the residency floor during the late hours and to end the events by 11PM. Please notify the residency staff if there are any violations of the general rules of SODAS 2123.

[Galleries in SODAS 2123]
Atletika - contemporary art space at SODAS 2123. Atletika presents emerging and acclaimed artists from Lithuania and abroad. Its exhibitions are curated collectively, emphasizing the experimental, explorative practices of art.


[Discover Vilnius]
In the city center of Vilnius, there are many museums and art galleries , such as The Contemporary Art Centre (CAC), National Gallery of Art, National Museum of Lithuania, The Museum of Genocide Victims, and The Mo Museum.

Facilities

Number of Residents 3
Studio Type The residency is located on the third floor of the complex above the Atletika gallery. There is no elevator. In the residency floor there are residency studio apartments with shared kitchen and bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with basic kitchen utensils, washing machine and cleaning supplies.

The residents are responsible for keeping their studio apartments clean. All cleaning supplies are in the shared kitchen. Additionally, the cleaning staff will clean the common area once a week.
Other Facilities Single bedroom, studio, laundry room, restaurant, shared kitchen and bathroom.

Driving Instructions The trip from Vilnius Airport (VNO) to the cultural center SODAS 2123 will take about 20 min. In addition to taxis, there are mobile applications available such as Bolt, Uber, eTransport.lt, and Etaksi. You can download these apps and use them freely. Please note that taxis waiting outside the airport typically charge higher fares compared to those booked through the apps.
