Inside-out Art Museum is dedicated to promote contemporary visual art and ideas in China. Located on the west side of the “Xishan Cultural Avenue” in Haidian District, Inside-out Art Museum was first established in 2008, later officially recognized by Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau as nonprofit community organization in 2011.

At this historical moment in China, “Contemporary” represents two aspects that are urgent for us, preserving empirical knowledge in traditional art and crafts as well as supporting creative thinkers in the present artistic practices both from China and abroad. We try to capture fleeting instances in this period of rapid change, to truthfully reflect the present level of artistic consciousness in China, providing soil to cultivate truly diverse ideas and approaches to art.
