This residency invites applications from artists whose practices engage with mental health and distress, critically examining how physical, psychological, or historical pain shapes both the self and society. The programme considers how suffering is unequally distributed across race, caste, class, gender, and geography, and welcomes diverse knowledge systems, forms of practice, and concepts of vitality and distress. The six-week on-site residency at Khoj Studios in New Delhi encourages artists working in any medium to expand the discourse on mental health, vulnerability, wounds, healing, and the remaking of the self.
