This year, we understand artist residency as a form of “subsurface-flow-like” practice, moving slowly within existing cultural and lived contexts. By sharing time alongside the local community, art is gradually perceived through the repetition of daily life, the settling of experience, and the accumulation of relationships, revealing the deeper force embedded in local culture.

| Selection Procedure | Art Residency Creative Research Open Call Timeline: Residency space application (03/02–03/20) Any local cultural museum or arts and cultural site within Taitung County that is willing to collaborate on residency may apply. Artist application / residency space announcement (03/23–04/03) Residency spaces that meet the requirements will be announced, and artists may choose one of the listed venues to submit their residency creative research proposal. Matching / jointly writing the residency proposal (04/04–04/30) The residency space will select one artist from the applicants to jointly write the residency proposal. Selection This will be divided into a first-stage document review (announcement before 05/08) and a second-stage on-site presentation. In the end, a professional review panel will select three groups of artists and residency spaces to carry out this year’s residency creative research project. |
