The Fellowship will run for one year from October 2024 to October 2025, with a residency period in Cambridge typically of at least six months.
The Fellowship supports the Cavendish Arts Science ethos of experimenting, decentring and re-imagining. It is designed for artists to develop thought-provoking ideas through engagement with physicists and those in other fields, and to experiment with new approaches to their practice that are transformative and push boundaries.
It is delivered through a partnership between Cavendish Arts Science, an initiative of the Cavendish Laboratory for Physics and Girton College, University of Cambridge, thanks to the vision and support of Una Ryan.

Funding | The Fellowship is financially supported: - £10,000 GBP stipend paid to the artist towards living costs and expenses. - Travel budget of up to £3,000 GBP (depending on where the artist is based) will be made available to support the cost of travel to/from Cambridge. - Production budget of £10,000 GBP will be made available. |
Provided by Host | Rent-free accommodation and meals provided at Girton College during the residency period in Cambridge. |

Selection Procedure | Eligible applications received before the deadline will be reviewed by a panel of arts professionals with expertise in a range of art forms and practices, and a longlist of applicants selected. A separate panel of final selectors will include artists, physicists, arts professionals, a Girton College Fellow and the Cavendish Arts Science Director. The panel will review longlisted applications and identify artists to be invited for interview. Interviews with the final panel will take place on zoom in the week beginning 15 July. Artists selected for interview will be notified a few days before to confirm a time. |
