Since 2017, the colony has been promoting the "Artist-in-Residence Program" aimed at providing artists with comprehensive creative spaces and interactive platforms for exchange. Since its inception, the program has facilitated artists in presenting new works and engaging in interactive exchanges, achieving remarkable results with enthusiastic responses. The theme for the 8th edition in 2024 is "Revitalizing Creativity”: ReDiscover, ReEngage, ReCreate, encouraging puppetry to venture into the audience, presenting installation exhibitions or performances in non-theatrical spaces. Artists with a foundation, imagination, and motivation related to this theme are welcome to participate in this program.
The Lize Puppet Arts Colony is thrilled to announce the theme for the Artist in Residence program in 2024, “Revitalising Creativity”: ReDiscover. ReEngage. ReCreate. This curatorial brief invites artists from diverse backgrounds to explore the transformative power of puppetry as a means of rediscovery, reengagement, and recreation. We seek proposals that push the boundaries of traditional puppetry, encouraging artists to delve into uncharted territories and redefine the art form.
