More About Residency Launcher Sound Lab
Launcher Sound Lab is delighted to announce the second year of artist residency opportunities in Hengchun, Taiwan. We are seeking proposals from artists who would like to take up a 35-day supported residency. Proposals are welcomed from artists working in all types of sound production, including sound design, songwriting, music composition, sound collections, foley sound design, soliloquies, audio books and interdisciplinary practices. We are keen to support five artists, taking part in the residency at the same time.

Duration 35 to 45 days, from July to the end of August 2023.

Funding Living costs covered with per diem rate of $NT500. A subsidy of NT$15000 will be provided for artists to show either, an existing, or a new body of work created during the residency, or work in progress at local galleries or similar venues.
Provided by Host Free accommodation in the Launcher House, free access to working space, travel insurance, free access to an equipped recording studio, Assistance to contact and connect with the locals for collecting materials, interactions and cross-over cooperation.
Costs After receiving admission notice, applicants should respond by email to Launcher Lab and inform us if you will participate in the art residency or not. Within the deadline, artists should finish signing the contract and submit a deposit of NTD$5000. The deposit will be returned once we check there is nothing in disrepair and project items are all finished by the end of the art residency. Any delayed or incomplete contract will be regarded as abandonment.

Expected Outcome Artists should participate in the activities held by Launcher Sound Lab. Such as music festivals, cultural events, activities of related institutions’ visit and the exhibition of art residency presentation.
