Artist Statement:

My work spans across multiple fields including video, installation, and performance art to express personal emotions and self reflections by utilizing technological and metaphorical means. Referencing Eastern philosophy as well as issues in our contemporary society, our conditions of living are communicated through my constructions of visual languages that explore topics of self existence.

Monologue, my 2009 interactive performance piece, was critically acclaimed in the Taiwanese art circle and also received international recognition. It won the Special Jury Award at the Bains numériques #4 International Digital Arts Festival of Enghien-les-Bains and was also invited to the 10th Anniversary Edith Russ Site for Media Art in 2010. In 2010, my interactive installation piece, Starry, Starry Night, was shown at the European Media Art Festival, Germany, Osnabrueck. In 2010, I was the resident artist at the Edith Russ Site for Media Art, Oldenburg, Germany, and the Unitec Institute of Technologies, New Zealand; and I was also the resident artist at Cité International des Arts, Paris, France in 2012. I have been travelling and working all over the world in different artist residency programs to this day.

Ooh La La Paris. A feeling of finding one’s self. A sense of happiness even for a city traveler that only lingers for a short period of time. Paris is like a feast that never stops! ‘Let’s Do It, Let’s Fall in Love’ is the best way to experience this city, this city that is surrounded and constructed by history, literature, arts, and architecture. Cité International des Arts is located in the 4th district of Paris. I experienced the overwhelming impact of foreign cultures while serving my artist’s residency here. This experience had allowed me to reflect on my own work and it was extremely influential to the planning of my personal career. My time here could be seen as a period for recollection, reexamination, re-stimulation, and a reboot of my art practice.
