The Caetani Cultural Centre is partnering with the Allan Brooks Nature Centre for the Artist-in-Residence program entitled Fresh!AiR. The ABNC collaboration is intended to serve as a catalyst in broadening and enriching community awareness and the understanding of art and sustainable biodiversity. This residency includes a one month stay at the Caetani Cultural Centre, a studio space at the Allan Brooks Nature Centre and an honorarium. Artists are responsible for their own transportation, food and supplies. Major Allan Brooks was a distinguished bird artist with significant contributions made through his art to the field of Ornithology. Community organizations such as Allan Brooks Nature Centre and the Caetani Cultural Centre offer opportunities for the Artists to base themselves in the Okanagan Valley while focusing on their work and contributing to workshops, presentations and/or exhibitions locally. Note: 1.The Caetani Cultural Centre will facilitate workshops, receptions, and public programming based around the participating artist’s work. 2.Artists-in-Residence are requested to leave a piece of art reflecting regional habitat conservation issues in the community if possible. 3.Sponsored Artist Support: A $500 honorarium (Canadian funds) is available for each separate Fresh!AiR residency. An additional honorarium may be available specifically to Canadian applicants only. Honorariums are payable at the end of the residency following successful completion of the program. All honorariums are dependent upon funding. 4.For sponsored AIR programs, the successful applicant is required to submit a reservation/cancellation deposit of $200. This will be invoiced via Paypal and can be paid on-line in Canadian funds. The deposit of $200 will be refunded via Paypal upon the arrival of the artist at the Centre for the specified program.
