More About Residency | Kacalisian Art Village |
Typhoon Morakot hit southern Taiwan in 2009, forcing the Kacalisian tribes who lived in the tribes to move out of their hometowns, including the Paridrayan tribe in the three regions, the Makazayazaya tribe in Majia Township, and Wutai Township. All the Qucapungan tribes were forced to move to Rinari at their feet due to the disaster of this century. A disaster made the three Kacalisian primitive tribes a community of destiny for their neighbors. A disaster evolved from the “1n1 original space” of Rinari. A disaster also inspired the vitality of the local people’s new artistic creation. The settlement is looking for an authentic, self-contained, unique "art village" reconstruction path.
The "2022 Kacalisian Art Village" international artist-in-residence program aims to open up the trans-regional and transcendence of artistic exchanges, allowing art to serve as a bridge to connect people, and the sustainable harmony between man and nature, and at the same time through art The power of communication, explore the inheritance and future of regional art and culture, create a platform for sharing the artistic power and universality of the slope people, and try to create a living space for the tribe with multicultural experience and artistic aesthetics.
